Above ground & below ground pool pump motors

If you own a swimming pool, then you'll also have a pool pump motor which is physically attached and in usage with your pool. The pool pump motor helps the pump to move water along in the swimming pool circuit. If your pool pump motor is not working, then the filters and other pumps will not be working with the pool. This can lead to a number of problems, and it's important that you get a new pool pump motor, and get that up and running immediately.
  • If your pool pump motor stops running, then the following things start to happen as part of a chain reaction:
  • Without the pool pump motor running, pumps and filters start to shut down in your swimming pool.
  • No water is filtered which means your chemical mixtures will not be correct. You can end up with too much chlorine or not enough. The water will not be sanitary for usage in any case
  • Debris, chemicals and other which are not being removed by the filter will start to create bacteria in the pool
  • Sediment which remains in the unused pipes, hoses and filters for too long will start to build up and make the system unsealable.

For the reasons listed above, it's especially important you replace a pool pump motor as soon as it starts to go bad. Easy ways to tell if the motor are failing is if the pump shuts off, does not move enough water, or has troubles starting up. If the motor stops working completely, time to replace. If you are looking for a replacement motor, you may find one that works on this page. We can't tell you though if a specific motor will work with your pump and etc. For this you would need to contact the manufacturer of your pump.
