A sauna spa heatr is also referred to as a sauna steam generator. The reason for this is generally, the sauna spa heater is one of (if not the) main component in the sauna setup. Without a heater you do not have a sauna really. As long as you have 4 walls and a proper sauna heat generator, you have a sauna. Depending upon the size of the sauna, you may require a smaller or larger heater. The bigger the sauna room you are building, the more powerful sauna heater you will require. As you increase in size from a 4x4' sauna, to a 4x5' sauna, and so on and so forth, you will need a more powerful heater as the size of the room increases.

More powerful sauna heaters also mean that your energy cost will start to increase as well. Keep an eye on your energy bill so you can observe the increase in the amount of energy required. Another thing is, does your sauna properly insulate the heat you are pushing into the room?
